Moreover, I don’t agree about the Oasis (another mainstream band, just to change things up): if we talk about "memory" and collective imagery, I'm sure that in several decades we will still find them in the minds of many, especially in their home country. After all, there was a strong historical identification in the early '90s between them and the youth of that time.

But who will remember whom?? We can’t move from that point. Of course, the bands you mentioned belong to the national/international repertoire, but the artistic aspect is another thing (aside from Floyd, the only ones who, early in their careers, crossed the threshold of easy rock demagoguery, and I would partially include Dylan too). However, the fact that these guys are, overall, overrated is undeniable. Overrated at the expense of others who remain unknown, and who are worth as much, if not more, than they are. One can pretend they don’t exist because the neighbor doesn’t know them and they don’t get coverage on TV, but I don’t think that can be the most aware attitude to adopt. Returning to Franz Ferdinand... if you don’t know what current rock has to offer, how can you take the FF as a model? How can you talk about overrated if you don’t know what you hypothesize to be overrated?

In fact, Franz Ferdinand are just the worst example I could pick (they're pretty mediocre).. and then we always have to see who will remember Macca and for what especially, in a world where even Europe are remembered, it's best to tread carefully :-D

"... then going to a concert of what is, for me, the best band ever, even better than legendary bands like Queen and the Beatles, is an emotion that is double, if not triple!" -----> only a fake could think otherwise.

If RT at least took care of the shape… at least there would be some aesthetic gratification… (the first homonymous one is truly the anti-life, even more than Twin Infinitives), to Beach Party we can criticize a somewhat monotonous style overall, and that ostentatious reference to Thomas's voice, but the best moments of the work seem significant to me for a songwriting scene like ours! I feel that the next release will bring forth the masterpiece.

So you’re saying that after a luxury bender, trying to listen to this record again, my opinion of it would change? I have some doubts.. but it doesn’t cost me anything to let you believe it :-)

Indeed, you don't have to justify yourselves to me :-) I'll try to listen to it again anyway.

They didn't convince me at all.. too much revival for my taste.
