ANATO is too mushed together as an album in sound, it's true, but you get me their least successful album... you're right about Kotipelto, but sometimes he's really too cold in his interpretation, poor guy has to hide Tolkki's self-plagiarisms as best he can, eh eh...

Even Kai Hansen doesn't have such an evocative voice, yet... Land of the free, Somewhere out in space, powerplant... but has anyone ever noticed that KOTIPELTO HAS A VOICE THAT IS MOOOOOOOLY SIMILAR TO LABRIE'S (especially in the ballads)?

So if it's a good album for you, how come it makes you feel so sorry? Do you have "Imaginations from the Other Side"? (I'm not a power metal fan, but I love good metal in general, from Burzum to Pagan's Mind, just to be clear...)

I have a thought... For someone like you, DT appears trivial precisely because of their theatricality and directness in melodies; you seek "what reveals itself behind the human soul"... So DT is not the group for you. However, if I were you, I would listen to a song like Octavarium (the song, not the album), as it is different from the usual half-hour suites of DT; moreover, it talks about the history of prog and rock in general from the 70s, so it fits perfectly into the theme. As for Labrie, I mostly agree with you, but songs like The Mirror and Space Dye Vest would elicit an emotional surge in you when it comes to vocal interpretation... One last note on Korn: I consider ISSUES a great album; in fact, it might even be better than Life is Peachy, at least in terms of production. Only A.D.I.D.A.S. seems truly captivating in LIP; the rest is all good, but a bit too "grimy." Now the discussion seems a bit more productive, thank goodness.
