Well, he became famous as a sociologist, but he was interested in the entire body of knowledge produced by man, relativist whenever it suited him, moving from Kant's cognitive categories to Nietzsche and Schopenhauer's irrationalism... All very beautiful and interesting, but I really don't have the time to read the book, even though philosophical aesthetics must be among the highest forms of speculation... alas :(
