Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

Prog is this too (and this time I emphasize prog, not prog metal). You find them ultra-canonized because they are not innovators, but, I repeat, I couldn't care less about innovation; in fact, I’m glad they refer to already known stylistic elements. It’s right that Progressive continues to exist for what it has been. "the total absence of a real expressive intent"...but that is not demonstrable! I mean, I can just as easily say "the great expressiveness of Ayreon" and we’re tied 1-1; my expression has the same merit of existence as yours! Easy, but this is Progressive; what do you expect from a progressive album? I don't see ultra-aestheticism at all, considering I’ve listened to some prog work. The number of "obsolete" sounds, as you define them, is considerable, but "obsolete" is a rather forced term... they refer to prog canons; they are prog, what should they do? You’ve barely listened to 5 percent of Opeth, and I repeat, Deliverance is NOT their best work. The comparison to Linkin Park is chilling; I suppose it’s just a provocation on your part... Linkin Park, before being original (and they weren't), were undoubtedly absolutely WEAK from a Formal, Technical, Inspirational, and Artistic point of view. Linkin Park are NOTHING; they lack the foundations. Opeth has those foundations. They unite and mix what NO ONE had ever tried before. Maybe in the Metal realm, they have their own importance, but given the times we live in today, that's no small feat... If you discuss Opeth with someone, you'll see that the "originality" topic comes up. Originality for sure, and even a pinch of innovation after all.

It wasn't aimed at you, the "what the hell" thing, it's just that this damn PC is really pissing me off.

But you and MrMorte should do a great thing: open a forum about Rap and let's see what people think, right? Otherwise, it's just me here playing the part of the arrogant bad guy. All this discussion feels very self-indulgent if we don't expose it to the public. I don't need to add anything, I was just joking...

Eneru, from your comment I deduce that you don't understand a damn thing about music. And why are you only targeting me when everyone is criticizing this album? Then the example of the two platinum records is the cherry on top... WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? I hope the ambulance takes you, look at the crap you listen to... I bet your golden discography includes the milestones of the "greats" Green Day and Blink 182... haha...

I was just referring to your expression from earlier, that's all. Your responses haven’t exactly thrilled me anyway... I have a lot to say, but I'm "holding back"...

I replied to you!

If you reply "you're breaking my balls," I suppose you have nothing more to say. Otherwise, you would argue differently, right?

Well, "you're bothering the hell out of me" is certainly not a friendly expression.

And what would the "tools" of Rap be? Let's hear from MrMorte, I'm curious...
