The Pink Floyd, in addition to their experiments USED WITH ART AND DIVINE INSPIRATION, played the classic instruments of rock. Of course, they didn’t rap… hehe…

For ashanti: I DO NOT CONSIDER EMINEM RAP, he's talented, but musically he's trivial and commercial. It's cheap rap, that is. Still better than applause for Fibra though.

Well, basically, I agree with Ashanti. Commercialization is very dangerous. For 90% of the artists who market themselves, their quality suffers, indeed. One must be honest with oneself. I love Queen, but I admit that songs like Radio Ga Ga are complete nonsense. Created to climb the charts. Tormento, for as little as I know, I prefer to Fibra, whom I still consider an idiot. Vulgar to the max, pure show, HE JUST WANTS TO BE NOTICED. Finally, Rap in Italy has undoubtedly become known for its worst side.

Look Easy, sometimes it would just take a careful reading to avoid misunderstandings. My first post starts with "prog is ALSO this, not ONLY this," referring to Yes, Rush, others, and partly even King Crimson, why not?! And anyway, prog as a whole has historically been associated with the "aesthetic" attribute, of bourgeois origin, ambitious and pretentious at the same time. Of course, generalizations are mental shortcuts, just like stereotypes, and you, studying psychology, should know this as well as, if not better than, I do. But the reality is this, even if it's misleading... but not too much if we think about it. It’s like saying "Metal is entirely conservative." There are exceptions, of course, but the trend is that, isn't it? Opeth, I repeat: they are original; compared to other illustrious peers, they undoubtedly have an edge. Even compared to DT, in terms of compositional and artistic level... it’s as if you were trying hard to notice only the flaws in prog... but the taste and the pleasure OF A BEAUTIFUL SOLO PLAYED AS IT SHOULD BE, of a sudden time change that is always appreciated, of melodies alternating with more technical parts... have you lost it completely??!! We need that in life too, don’t we?? Anyway, come on, tell me what you think could be a prog metal album that barely scrapes the pass mark… just to give me an idea.

In fact, I am Ghotic Doom to be precise, with elements of classical and electronic...

Another album worthy of mention, and absolutely unknown: Sombre Romantic by Virgin Black. To call them prog is limiting. But I don't know any band that offers something similar to them.

You will say "absolutely no!" and I will respond: find me something similar to Opeth now in the Metal scene. Innovation and originality are relative to historical contexts, don't you think? If a band like the Velvet Underground were to come to life today, would it have the same influence it had 50 years ago? Of course not, right?
