Blind Guardian A Twist In The Myth

I like the rhythmic section of IFTO... in the sounds, I mean. Nightfall is beautiful but a bit cheesy...

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the dark version of Fly... the idea is interesting, but sometimes it's hard to understand where Hansi's melodic line wants to go, it's difficult to keep up with him.

Look Mista, let me give you an example... I don't know if you're familiar with Opeth. Their best album (artistically) is Mornigrise. It has the worst production (sound and recording quality) of their entire discography (from an aesthetic point of view). In reality, that production is simply underground, gritty, but it's that grit that makes the album unique... Both Imaginations and Nightfall are superb in mixing, every instrument is perfectly placed... Nightfall even has overly polished sounds (losing a bit of power). I see IFTO as the perfect synthesis of Blind; aggression and melody have never coexisted so inseparably in Power.

Personally, IFTO has a truly excellent production, one of the best Power albums I have ever listened to. Powerful, riffs on the edge of thrash, enveloping and epic choruses, in the original sense of the term. NIME's is great too. But ANATO's... meatball...

Look at ANATO, I have to agree with you, they "risked" creating another masterpiece with it. They got lost in the mixing phase, and I was really upset when I listened to songs with excellent potential like Under the Ice and Sadly Sings Destiny not fully utilized. Fortunately, gems like the beautiful Battlefield, and then there was silence, and the underrated Precious Jerousalem still make it a listenable album. But there is regret for that album, it’s undeniable.

Thank you..it's not essential, personally, to listen to an album 30 times to give an opinion. It's true that the songs are articulate, but in the worst sense of the word. The Blind need to focus on the melodic aspect to regain their greatness. Melody, let's face it, is the fundamental aspect in Power. What distinguishes Nightfall and I'm Alive, for example, from ATITM? Melody, of course. The melody and the production that make every single track of IFTO and NIME impactful. The melody merged with the power of the riffs and choruses, creating the right epic synthesis. Now it seems that melody, technical aspects, and Hansi's voice are each going their own way...and none of the three aspects reach the results of the past. Now I better stop, though, I'm unintentionally writing another review, risking being repetitive!

Dreamwarrior, personally I consider the album good (really good) only from a technical point of view. As for the rest, I find the songs a bit stale and they struggle to take off. You forgot to vote anyway!

I get it, Night. I just want to tell you that last night I listened to Imaginations again, and I was about to throw the ATITM record out the window... de gustibus :-)

It's true, countless reviews online lean in favor of the album... but honestly, I find all of this ridiculous. I still don't understand how such high ratings can be assigned to a work like this. I have to assume that the reviewers in question generally don’t listen to much music, especially not much "rock." Otherwise, I don’t see how anyone could courageously define this album as a "masterpiece"... moreover, those who praise or excessively appreciate this album are usually the same ones who idolize every work of the Maiden (including the last abomination: A Matter of Life and Death). That says it all.
