"If they really sucked that much, do you think they would have won 2 Grammys?".... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, what do you think I care about the Grammys???? AHAHAHAHAHAHA.... "they've been judged by critics who know much more than you or me"... it's true, too bad these critics admit that the Evanescence are a reasonably mediocre band.

Of course I repeat the same things; you always bring up the same criticisms of my way of thinking. The reason I "demand" isn't real, physical, but conceptual. It requires musical culture—the highest possible—so that we can expand and extend each of our sensitivities. It doesn't seem to me that you say things that are much more interesting than what I do; quite the opposite. I've repeated 70,000,000,000 million times that Evanescence are Pop, mainstream pop, not the "high-quality pop" of R.E.M.'s Murmur, for example. The songs are essentially trivial, with sweet but hypocritical melodies, created precisely to please the masses, easily digestible; there isn't a real intent in their proposal. They may be liked, but unfortunately, the average musical taste, especially here in Italy, is really terrible. Now my thought is that Evanescence may appeal to those with a limited rock culture, that's all. It's obvious that I can't CONCRETELY prove anything to you for a simple reason: we're speculating (in fact, I'm the only one trying to speculate). This is a dialectical dispute; I can't prove anything to you CONCRETELY, but at a logical-rational, conceptual level, I believe I can. I don’t use "big words"; I just try to use expressions and concepts that are as untrivial and straightforward as possible, for what I can do, at least I try. What the hell am I going to university for, then? To just sit around? My way of expressing myself has to mature compared to when I was 12, right?

Moreover, the issue with Evanescence is not a matter of musical technique per se, but rather a lack of musical substance. I'll tell you more, there are bands that are technically inferior to Evanescence (not many...), but qualitatively they are definitely superior.

No, look, Wikipedia for "dialectical" challenges so simple is not helpful to me at all... Did I raise the issue of the texts? I don’t think so. I have responded meticulously to every post, so much so that the last post written was mine. Now you’re back in the spotlight, but it seems you persist in not understanding the crux of the matter. I will try for the umpteenth time... A. music is art, therefore art can be intellectually (and hypothetically) assessed from a minimum of poor to a maximum of excellent. B. Now my criteria for judging a rock album are 1-Historical importance, 2-Innovation of the musical proposal, 3-Social (and also political) issues. Now, the Evanescence are mediocre to me (but to any rock historian, rest assured) according to each of these criteria, if only because they are a band APRIORISTICALLY mainstream, and the mainstream very rarely includes even a minimal relevant artistic value. I, therefore (but not just me, huh) in light of my objectively modest listens, yet excellent compared to so many people who ignore the existence, let’s say, of bands like Pere Ubu and Husker Du, confirm and underscore the absolute musical flatness of the aforementioned ensemble named "Evanescence," which even from the name, foreshadows the evanescence of their "artistic" proposal. Before responding to me, adopt the so-called VERSTEHEN of Max Weber, and try to understand where my point of view comes from. Otherwise, you risk repeating the same things endlessly and posing me the same questions over and over.

The DT have nothing to do with the Symphonix?? I would say the opposite; the Symphonix certainly draw from the DT, but they have a much more epic and "power" approach. Just as they draw from them, Pagan's Mind also takes a lot (one of their songs from their second album Celestial Entrance, "the prophecy of pleiades," has verses that are shamefully IDENTICAL TO THOSE OF LEARNING TO LIVE by DT). Try it to believe it. This brings us back to the discussion of bands that are mirror images of one another. The PoS are already better, even though the Pop influence is definitely pronounced in their prog proposal.

a truly remarkable piece, an example of true experimentation. Although over time the concentration of listening diminishes if one intends to listen to the entire album in one go.

The entire work of DT, and presumably all of prog metal... prog metal has no historical reason to exist for those who think like him! Let’s not dwell on SFAM by DT, let’s get to the root of the matter. This album is just the tip of the iceberg.
