I don't think very differently from you, let's say that the very first albums are undoubtedly important, the records up to Seventh Son are still listenable (some more than others), then comes the disaster. But indeed, my point was more centered around the 90s.

in THIS musical case, pardon.

Of course, I myself have certainly not reached the L'arkè of art... I only try, shall we say, to distance myself from clichés, struggling to find a fragment of "true truth" in the musical case on a daily basis. Don't make it a matter of arrogance.

Dr. Gonzo, we don't understand each other... I speak from a purely quality perspective. The Maiden albums from the 90s are useless because, to quote Scaruffi (I am NOT a fan of Scaruffi, ATTENTION, I read him out of curiosity and do not share everything he says), "sterile repetition." And in this case, he is absolutely right. The Maidens plagiarize themselves in the 90s, always the same chords, the same vocal expressions and high notes, the same solos, riffs... enough already! Just because people still appreciate them doesn’t mean anything, to be honest... even Pausini is very appreciated here in Italy, but the MASS is one thing, ART is another, do you understand me?

DottorGonzo, Type O Negative have released their first album which, in terms of quality, is worth more than 90% of Maiden's albums; it’s on a whole different level of originality and expressiveness, unlike this super catchy heavy metal. It’s true that Faith No More have little in common with Maiden, but I mentioned them as a band that is at least more, let’s say, "bold"; their crossover really stands out from the usual stereotyped Hard 'n' Heavy.

cptgaio, you still need to explain to me what you have against me... you seem a bit bitter. Sorry, but if this is a music site, it’s obvious we're talking about music. Reducing everything to a subjective level wouldn’t make sense, because without a bit of personal opinion, but “tending towards objectivity” (at least historically), every statement about music would lose its meaning. So, Laura Pausini should be respected as an "artist" because here in Italy, there are a lot of people who get emotional with her... let’s try to sift through the nonsense and focus on what really matters, right? Then can you explain why in the other review you wrote that I am a musical "racist"?

thetrooper, Iron Maiden don’t need to play Nu Metal; they simply need to stop playing because they have nothing left to say. They are Reactionaries with a capital R, a true crusade against originality. I repeat, if they had stopped after Seventh Son (though some would say they should have stopped after The Number of the Beast), I would have appreciated them much more. But as we know, money and fame are tempting; it would be unfair to blame them for that, many other bands do it (and I still don’t agree with them).

Without mentioning Faith No More then.

Type O Negative are worth more than Maiden. Even though Maiden were important in their early albums, they then used the classic melodic heavy metal formula for the next 15 records. A somewhat monotonous band, those Maidens. But shall we forget about Celtic Frost? Shall we forget about a proto-metal band like Rush? Or Death? Or the early albums of Judas Priest? And Kill 'Em All by Metallica? And Reign in Blood by Slayer? Even Sepultura, for a while, released some solid albums... but then, can we really compare to a great album like Demanufacture by Fear Factory and the early ones by Korn and Deftones with certain conservative crap by Maiden from the 90s? (From Fear of the Dark onward, it’s pure garbage, please don’t come telling me that Maiden made masterpieces in the 90s).

So let's say they are more commercial in form than intent? I still prefer Surf's Up and Sunflower to Pet Sounds.
