OleEinar "come on, be nice" I'm saying this directly to you since you involve me and interpret reality in a way that suits you best. I'm sorry, you’re stepping out of logic; now I'll share the comment from actingout that preceded my response: "But you, my dear lux, are a frustrated person, an envious one... I gladly accept opinions from people who don't like the genre, the sound, the style, etc. that I don't like, but to engage with someone who hasn’t understood how to approach living and listening to music... that's just not for me, I'm just wasting my time!" Do you realize that this poor guy even pointed me out as "someone who doesn't know how to live" simply because I don't like this album and prog metal? I’d like to point out that I only responded in kind AFTER actingout's comment, not before. So, before you take on the role of devil’s advocate, read carefully to avoid speaking nonsense.

OleEinar, why don't you read the previous comments from actingout towards me instead of only bringing up mine? Come on, be a good sport, a little intellectual honesty, please.

But then listening to this album, The Odyssey or The Divine Wings of Tragedy, is practically the same thing; they always have the same expressionless attitude, and they are frighteningly self-serving. Moreover, constructive criticism, to be constructive, doesn’t have to be necessarily “conservative” and soothing. If a work is mediocre, it’s right for the critique to be “destructive.” We can’t always be diplomatic in the face of such a disgrace. And we say this precisely because we are not superficial, and a masterpiece must truly have something unique and original to be considered as such. And Symphony X are not that in the slightest. Personal tastes matter relatively little; it's a purely historical discussion.

Disc to be placed in the useless discs section. Really awful for my tastes.

I hate Megadeth, but I realize that it's a personal subjective contingency (maybe).

actingout bring me a rock music critic and let's see what they think of your bands. Since you don't trust us. Maybe you'll be less than zero, still caring "about the technique," but go ahead, go. Oh, and while you're at it, why not include Cynic and Aghora too? (bands that aren't bad, I listen to them if the occasion arises). Or Meshuggah.

"but to compare myself with someone who hasn’t quite understood how to approach living and listening to music... actingout, you understood how to live, right? you listen to this garbage and give these people a 5."

Senmayan, don’t spout nonsense like an incompetent, what do you want me to care about the lyrics when the music is mediocre? Remedy Lane is crap, Be I remember as more experimental and interesting (but I should give it another listen), Entropia, apart from the first song, was predictable prog metal (but the singer had a nice vocal interpretation). Where do you see this genius? I don’t know. How the hell can you listen to The Velvet Underground and Symphony X? You need to explain that to me. Is it perhaps a lack of critical spirit on your part? Seems that way.

actingout, so you're a failure then. Me frustrated? Jealous? Of what? Of Romero? You don't understand, this is CRAP MUSIC FOR LOBOTOMIZED MASSES. PERIOD. Now I'm listening to Horse Rotorvator by Coil, and I'm enjoying it. You keep listening to your pseudo-conservative and reactionary little metal bands, anachronistic and uninspired. Blessed ignorance.

Senmayan, be quiet, you look better. Once I loved prog metal, but since I discovered Pere Ubu & Velvet Underground, everything changed. Progressive metal is inferior rock, I reiterate, it's anti-art (there will always be some exceptions, but good luck finding them). I know Pain of Salvation, they're nothing special. These are definitely better.
