Anathema Serenades
Voto:
I know they would be offended, but unfortunately in rock there’s stuff that is way too superior to Anathema... the competition is fierce! Anyway, Serenades seems to me the most honest and spontaneous, less baroque in the arrangements, less redundant compared to the forced melancholic depression of the later albums... I prefer it along with Silent Enigma!

Here you go, Scaruffone is also a historian in the strict sense, you know? X-D Anyway, Warhol's banana is not only revered by Scaruffi but by the entire critique; I mean, the VU are the classic flagship group, like Pere Ubu or Fugazi, for example. The VU created a sick, distorted rock, a psychedelia that expresses urban neuroses, decadent rock, not to mention their influence on the new wave...(you'll find this written in much more detail on any Rock website or book). No one questions the equally great importance of the early Floyd or that of the Doors, and certainly not Scaruffi...it's just that over time the VU have become the emblem of a niche band, opposed to the chart-topping Pop that initially sold very little...then it went as it went. The VU are the typical example that quality and innovation win in the long run. Dogs and pigs have been influenced by the banana!

Me, clever? About what? Bah... if you can't rein in your pride even on these matters, well, I can only imagine how "open" you are to criticism on other issues... "Go in peace (because I'm thinking of Valentina..)." But what does that mean?

ohohohohoh Dog, you’re incorrigible. You improperly brought out the term comunella, not me.. Anyway, you’re right, I’m just talking to myself here, but on the other side of the monitor there’s someone who goes around things, you know how it is. As I predicted, I won’t get anything out of this.

In fact, the first comment you left on this review directed at me isn't anything spectacular on its own, but knowing how you are and adding it to the previous comments from the other reviews, it's obvious that you make me lose my patience. Then, you are a bit pathetic when you associate me with C'è. He is criticizing you based on past events that he knows about, which I am not aware of. And in fact, I haven't gotten involved between you two. It really doesn't seem like I've "allied" myself with C'è; I'm speaking for myself. So this story about a "community" is just laughable.

hahahaha, I'm in a meltdown, huh? Seems like the one who's stuck is you, Dog, worse than a Pentium 200 trying to run Doom 3. You're not saying anything sensible, no arguments, just a few second-hand jokes that aren't funny at all. Am I supposed to cry now? I'm talking to you directly, without any rhetorical frills. You call this crying? Well, good for you that you're having fun, I find nothing entertaining in watching you play coy. But at least admit that you often act like "Hey, I know everything." Then if there's someone who's tailing the other, it's you...go re-read the reviews of Fear Of a Blank Planet and A Day at the Races, all your arrogance is wrapped up there ;-)

I imagined it, but it’s fine anyway ;-) They might have some interesting "avant-garde" ideas, but it seems to me they are too pre-packaged in the way they sound clean, beyond the voice that I can't stand. Nice!

Blackdog, what is tactic n.2 "since I don't know what to say, I start to explicitly offend"? I thought you had a few more tricks up your sleeve (and a few more arguments) before degenerating irreparably; clearly, I overestimated you. "Don't add posts, as the 'Cacca' figure is quite complete," but look here, I write what I want, and whether I created the 'Cacca' figure is still to be seen. "But if I still don't understand what the hell we're talking about," then, since playing the fool is apparently your favorite hobby, let me repeat: Your way of commenting is often irritating. If in the past I didn't say anything about it, it's because I've always overlooked your way of addressing things in favor of the ongoing discussion; so I only focused on what you were saying, not how you were saying it. But enough is enough now (as the good Maccio Capatonda used to say), I really couldn't care less if you don't mind. Haven't you realized that your behavior might be just barely acceptable "in person" (if you were being ironic, it would be noticeable), but on a website where only written words remain, it could easily be interpreted as an act of arrogance and presumption on your part? And for heaven's sake, why not accept a critique instead of getting so worked up as if I had slept with your sister? But couldn’t it be that you’re a bit wrong, huh? It’s always the others who are "schizophrenic," right? And drop the self-irony; it’s a term used as a wild card when criticized for something, but not knowing how to respond to the criticism.

Some interesting songs would also be there (strung to your ribcage in primis), but the weak point is always the same...the voice. The singer sings in a pathetic and syrupy way in many refrains, it doesn’t convey anything to me, even in the most distinctly math pieces it comes off as expressionless, and then in the emo influences, it’s annoying. Songs like Atrocity (terrible) delight the band’s detractors, while Only one world comes to mind seems to have come out of a The Calling album, obviously with greater technical elaboration, but with a final result not much better. Unfortunately, they feel plastic.
