A really heavy album, that's it for me. Elsewhere I rated it 2 stars, but I don't want to be too radical, especially since I haven't listened to it in ages. So, 3.

Thank goodness I occasionally come across masterpieces like this... otherwise, you know what a drag it would be.

Nice album, even though the first two tracks in the Stooges style (as the reviewer says) didn't really convince me, that "shoegazerized" rock'n'roll feels a bit stale. However, I found a great shoegazer version of "Creep In The Cellar" by the BS (and consequently of "Bollicine" by Vasco AHAHAHAHAH!) in Fix to fall, and a Rocket Usa in full Suicide style.
Editors Live @ Carling Academy Bristol 15.10.07

As already mentioned elsewhere, one of the worst revival groups today. Terrifying. "The Editors, at least in my opinion, have their own personality"... I'm sorry, that's exactly what you shouldn't have said X-D
The Radio Dept. Lesser Matters
Voto:
Really a nice album, with the best tracks towards the middle. Of course, these guys seem to be a bit fans of MBV and Slowdive. Nothing particularly new anyway. Luca-LJ: it all depends on what you're looking for in an album. These Radio Dept sound intentionally sparse and raw, to appear more sincere and ultimately more personal with their lo-fi attitude electronic pop, as Sallu rightly pointed out. Sure, we agree that they haven't invented anything new after all.

Dear Sfascia, the album seemed to me an unhappy alchemy of Dream Theater, Children of Bodom, Napalm Death, and any techno-death band (not so much for Napalm, but for the first two), and in "breathe in breathe out" (and in other moments on the album) they even reminded me of the bucolic tracks of Maudlin of the Well (not that I disrespect them, eh)... however, they seem to fall into a murky, really "stereotyped" citationism, and this sudden change of genres from one track to another (or even within the same track) raises my suspicions quite a bit. For me, a mediocre album, unlike you, dear Sfascia, whom I consider a de-reviewer of All Respect (it’s thanks to you that I discovered Brainiac). Best regards.

Sooner or later, I’ll listen to all of them from Flaming, count on it!

And I just read your second post now, sorry. Anyway, I don’t doubt that the Flaming are truly psychedelic on other albums, it’s just that this one in particular didn’t excite me.. I prefer an Oh my Gawd or even a Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots compared to this.. keeping in mind that masterpiece which is Telepathic Surgery.

Alessiè, what is this bitterness? Do you think this is the way to respond? Well... Do I have to justify my 3? If you only accept 4s and 5s as ratings for the album, write it as a note on the review so that one can avoid commenting on you beforehand. Have I listened to the album you mentioned? Or are we going back to the usual argument that "if someone doesn’t give 5 to our favorite album, they’re an idiot"? Because that’s the reasoning you’re using. But since I’ve developed extreme patience on Debaser (I would have sent you directly there before), let me explain that after the first two tracks, I was very open to the album, then I noticed that more or less the tactic was always the same (and a bit rhetorical) and it repeated itself in the other songs, and that's why I gave it a 3. For me, albums are not listened to with the head or the ass, but with the ears. Thank you for the "third-rate critic," I take it as a compliment. All this because I didn’t give 5 stars to the latest Dinosaur Jr. album. It doesn’t seem like a mature behavior, honestly. I might say some nonsense to someone (to you in this case), but I don’t think I offend anyone with my comments.

I listened to it just a few days ago.. overall it seems to me that they rely too much on the little trick of the childish melody and dirty guitar that makes them so "psychedelic," let's say.. in my opinion, this trick becomes a bit cliché here, too forced.
