Well Zanna, he was clear and consistent in the review. For him, it lacks originality both in the music and in the lyrics, so he considers this album poor.

"Starting from the fact that Manuel Agnelli is a great poet, the album is phenomenal, musically rich, original... refined sounds... and stunning lyrics!" -- and no, you have to explain it somehow, otherwise it’s an unjustifiable a priori concept. Then GaArPa wants to tell us that in his opinion the Afta are derivative and not very original, taking a bit here and a bit there; you can agree or disagree, but it all seems very clear to me.

And who says it’s nonsense? For now, I’m relying on the reviewer (who convinced me, knowing a bit about the previous Afta albums), and after I listen to the album, I’ll come back to vote to confirm or change my rating. It’s the tone of the review that feels right, and that’s what I voted for. And besides, it's always better to have someone who critiques Afetrhours thoughtfully than someone who praises them without a real reason.

A moment of derivatives, even if sincere.

"The Afterhours are nothing but a pleasant tribute band to listen to live, drawing influences from the Afghan Whigs, Screaming Trees (above all), Suicide (compare 'Ghost Rider' with 'Milano Circonvallazione esterna'), Jimi Hendrix (All along the watchtower VS Non sono immaginario), and now, a new entry... the Cure." ---- It seems to me that the reviewer is quite clear about this, perfectly hinting at what the Afterhours represent for him. Aren't we perhaps "slightly" accustomed to the brick-like reviews filled with ultra-refined and convoluted terms?

I don't know, too cryptic.

But you’re such a fool Chinaski, if only you knew how sad you are. Regardless of the album, I prefer a review that FINALLY critiques in a cynical and raw way, without rhetoric and fairy tales, without necessarily seeking "poetry," since we are dealing with a REVIEW OF AN ALBUM, not the Divine Comedy. It's about time we returned to the original purpose of a review, which is not only to describe an album but also to judge it.

I’m not crazy about the Zu or the Theater (actually, I don’t like them, to be honest), but you've piqued my curiosity.

If it’s true, it’s a good review. The references to the music on the album are there, they are brief, but they get the idea across. I’ll listen to the album and then come back to confirm the 4 or give you a 1 :-D ahah
