Well... guys, I see there are some pretty conflicting opinions about this!!
So I'll try to be concise but clear. The revival wave of the 60s and 70s has taken over for about a couple of years, maybe even 3... bands like Datsuns (I don’t think anyone has mentioned them... why???!!), Libertines, Vines, and now these Jets (of which I bought the CD)... etc., are reinterpreting, some more and some less, what other bands were playing 30 or 40 years ago... thousands of bands. Now... the point is this: I personally, who have quite a bit of a music habit (between original CDs, burned ones, and downloaded tracks) like I think you do as well, have reached a point where there are very few albums I fall in love with at first listen... or that leave a mark on my personal musical journey... which was the case with albums like The Bends, OK Computer by Radiohead or What's the Story... by Oasis... or Ten by Pearl Jam... Nevermind by Nirvana... etc., etc., albums that have remained in the hearts of many people. In my opinion, this is due to the fact that there are so many groups playing and proposing more or less valid music nowadays, but few manage to excel... making it difficult to sift through bands that deserve to have their CD purchased. The Jets seem to be one among them... a nice album, but it doesn't excel... just like many others... but in their efforts, I think they’ve succeeded a bit more than the others... just like the Libertines did.
So I don’t agree with those who have dismissed them outright... maybe it's worth digging a little deeper.
