Happy, I have the idea of going into cinema, seriously. But the problem for me isn’t the talent; it’s the funding that comes exclusively from TV, steering the product towards mediocrity. Maybe there's even a new Visconti or Fellini, but they will always be relegated to (Roberto) limited budgets and the world of short films, while the big productions get entangled with Muccino, Castellitto, etc. Even Fellini had to pay for his films by signing ads; no one wanted to spend a dime on them. Perhaps Italian cinema is dead forever; nowadays, cinema is in the East.
