Scratch Acid The Greatest Gift

I think, if I'm not mistaken, that the bassist from Albini's Rapeman is the same one who later joined the Jesus Lizard... so this guy, if you ask him "Which bands have you played with?" he replies "Well, with Albini in Rapeman and then with the Lizard"! That's just absurd :)
Hole Pretty On the Inside

At the first ROIT I thought you had made a mistake: it's pronounced RIOT ... and the true RIOTS aren't the Hole, I'm sorry, but they're L7, Babes in Toyland, Bikini Kill, 7 Year Bitch, and a thousand others from that era. This was reheated broth and trendy...

Ah yes, the Europeans, those who at a certain point only played live in playback and with cardboard guitars? Thankfully, grunge purified all these tacky 80s people...

You hit the jackpot. The usefulness of various art stories is simply to stimulate, to shine a spotlight on something that was previously unknown, allowing one to form their own opinion about it. Reviews and guides are not gospel; questioning them and not hanging on anyone's words is the first step towards mental independence. Apocalypse Now is lauded by all, yet Brando's interpretation left me indifferent; I prefer an actor like Mario Adorf (who has been heavily criticized for being the star of B-movies). This is my truth. Regarding Du, in 1982 a record called Rebel in my mind by the Narcotic Pyros was released, and in 1983 Guests inside by Flame-math, led by a certain John Mechosky, who, due to his drug-related issues and how he expressed them in music, has nothing to envy of Zen Arcade from 1984... What can I say? You see, in this conversation we are both right; that's the point...

You see, I adore the first two albums of 883: Mauro Repetto wrote some really excellent lyrics, and this is also evident in his solo album "zucchero filato nero." For me, the atmosphere created in "Hanno ucciso l'uomo ragno" and "Nord Sud Ovest Est" is filled with provincial naivety and adolescence in a way that surpasses more renowned works. To me, the early 883 were a great band; the fact that there was a little blond guy dancing like a madman on the music of "Sei un mito" was unconsciously brilliant. And I’m not a typical "articolo 31" type; I love the Residents, the Chrome, the Throbbing Gristle, singer-songwriters like Cohen... and also the 883 because they represent a unique snapshot of aimless and marginalized adolescence. Where do you put objectivity now? You see it doesn't exist?! We try to fool ourselves into thinking we can agree, but absolute good and bad don't exist. For Amazonian tribes, practicing cannibalism is seen as positive; for “us” it is a profane and immoral practice... and even within our own society, universality and normality do not exist; there are different tastes and propensities linked to physiological and educational aspects. If the average bland girl says that Eros Ramazzotti is a great artist, it’s due to the psychological pressure exerted by the media (which unconsciously guides her choice) and the simple background of the person in question. Objectivity doesn't exist, and absolute beauty in art is dictated by an elitist and rather simplistic circle in terms of psychological and social considerations.

NgW "don't talk about trivialities because it's objectively nonsense"... Quotation from the psychology book: Reality is shaped by the interaction between the characteristics of the subject and the characteristics of the observed object. Still with ideas of objectivity? Objectivity doesn't exist... and let me give you a couple of examples. When I look at the sky, I notice the white clouds strolling by; when Basquiat observed the sky, he saw a surfer splashing around in it. Same "article" perceived in a totally different way. If I ask two people, A and B, to draw object Z (let's say a basket), A might draw it red and spacious, while B might draw it small and green; it all depends on their past sensory experiences and their representation of the object. OBJECTIVITY doesn't exist. Artists I consider similar to Husker Du? Saccharine Trust and Wipers, for example... and various of their albums came out before those of HD.

I really liked this review! I know a ton of all-female bands, but this one slipped past me, maybe because they play hard rock and, in the end, I’m not a big fan of 80s glam... I love the 70s, the Young brothers above all! Gods...

I would never define the Butthole Surfers as absurd; they had a comedic component, but to call them absurd is quite a stretch. They were much more perverse and irreverent than comedic anyway (I mean from the Butthole Surfers EP up to Hairway to Steven)... :P......... Kosmogabri is likable to me for some reason, I don’t know why :)

The music is violent, like Rock For Light by Bad Brains but meaner and a bit slower... A deliberately unserious album, yet truly engaging and interesting...................How can they be more violent than Bad Brains, who were really pissed off and dead serious, if they're making music that doesn’t take itself seriously and is clownish? Boo Boo, I haven’t figured that one out. Anyway, Rock For Light is my favorite Hardcore album!!!! :)
