You are the iconoclast, the pillar of alternativism; "I don't care about jazz" is like saying "I don't care about going to America," but there have been completely different Americans from one another. To make such a statement, you should have some understanding of the subject at hand. You don't know jazz, and so you don't want to learn about something you have no idea about. Your business, you're just very limited.

"I don't care about jazz," said the Islamic fundamentalist of the alternative.

MuffinMan, it’s a pleasure to know there are still some intelligent users in here. AlessioIride can talk as much shit as he wants about jazz without any real understanding of it, but we know these sad and mediocre albums well; they've tortured us throughout our lives, at parties, EVERYWHERE. We're not just slinging mud for no reason, but on matters we’re familiar with. And then Alessio Iride talks about JAZZ, ahahahahhaha, as if he were saying "Rock is shit"; a statement that shows a staggering ignorance. What is rock? Aren’t there thousands of subgenres within the rock category? New Wave, Psychedelic, Shoegazer, Metal, Hardcore, Alternative, etc. etc... Someone who says "I DON'T LIKE ROCK" is just an ignorant person lumping all genres of that type together without ever having really listened to them. Do you say "I don't like metal" or "I don't like rock"? To someone who listens to jazz, your "I don't like jazz" sounds like child's play. Which one are you referring to? Bebop, free jazz, Brazilian jazz, cool jazz, etc. etc. etc.? Which one do you mean? You're ignorant. I believe I have a fairly developed global knowledge of rock to say that grunge is the least interesting phenomenon, alongside hard rock, metal, and glam, born in the last century.

But why go looking for plagiarism from other groups when Nirvana copied Nirvana themselves? LAMMERDA

I have sex every day, I'm 23 years old, and I listen to free jazz, music that's truly for the mentally ill. Nirvana sounds like music for old people to me; anyone who listens to that music must be at least 90 years old—it's music that was stillborn. Anyway, end of discussion, goodbye.

Alessio Iride threw the stone and then hid his hand... when you no longer know what to say, you rely on someone else's mental wank, pulling out "you think too much" from your hat, and we’ve really reached the end of the line. We're having a discussion; we're not slapping each other, so a certain level of eloquence seems like the bare minimum. As the good muffinMan (one of the rare intelligent specimens on this zombie site) says, "a song that I know how it ends after 20 seconds doesn’t excite me"... I completely agree, but was Cobain the only sensitive and communicative human being ever to appear on planet Earth? Come on, let’s cut the crap; Cobain was passionate but collapsed into his cheap rock clichés; he was a mediocre musician. There’s not just the dichotomy of "Elementary-communicative musician VS technical-cold musician," as you and all the alternative inept like to think, but it’s not quite like that. The Soft Machine could play and were very passionate and communicative, just like Captain Beefheart... at this point, it's really easy to understand that, given the same level of passion, the only true driving force behind diversity and art itself is the SIGNIFIER. In other words, the way of playing: Cobain is stuck in a form of limited and banal communication, while others have ventured into levels unimaginable for the banal rock lullabies that dominate. Cobain is the story of the '90s culture, Zappa is the story of music.

Cafone :) I like it, HARDROCK92 the point is this, anyone who knows a bit about Sonic Youth (who bore me among other things) and has a minimum literary background will immediately label Marlene as a band of terrible taste. There are no ifs and buts, Marlene are the mascots of the middle men who watch MTV and convince themselves they are witnessing something different. In reality, it’s always the same crap. No flashes of genius, no leaps above the mediocre, no flicker toward the incomprehensible greatness of art... I don’t even know what noise band to recommend to you, just listen to No New York, there are 4 no-wave bands (the genre from which noise is born, which is already noise).
