What is not called religion nowadays? The religion of love, the religion of freedom, political religion—every form of enthusiasm, indeed. That's exactly how things stand; we still use the word religion to express the concept of being bound. We will remain bound for a long time as long as religion occupies our inner selves, but the spirit is free, for it is absolute.

this speaks volumes about the gaps in our perception of the world and truth, of our mind and our relationship with reality. The hatred towards the objective representation of the camera, in which we do not recognize ourselves, the inability to take an aseptic view of our self and our personal history. L'isola dei famosi is the camera, television, cinema, theater, or rather the film camera, which judges us and illustrates factual truth, always pulling the strings of our existence, and we do not accept it; we find it ambiguous and malevolent, with the same sense of repulsion we might feel when we see a photo of ourselves for the first time, while the image in the mirror (which we know is inverted) offers us comfort and identification. And together, a visual experience, and the spectator walking down the lost paths of the (double) protagonists of the reality show, with our fear/desire of being captured by the camera, is the masochistic sex, our timeless memories and logic.

I believe that both Catholicism and Protestantism have turned man into a sort of secret police state, "conscience" always on alert, surveilling every movement of the spirit, and every action, every thought is for it a matter of collective conscience, that is, a matter of policing. This tearing apart of man into natural impulse and conscience (inner mob and inner police) constitutes the basis of the Bible; the Catholic is satisfied with himself when he obeys the order, this is the bitter reality.

it is all a direct consequence of a Bedouin way of thinking, man never does a damn thing without associations, here lies the mistake, the true dandy understands it: the world is made up of people who think only in common, in bands, in societies, and then we find ourselves blowing up for group nonsense, there are also people who have fun only in troops, the true antihero enjoys himself without needing to be part of the vile band, the eternal superiority of the dandy, for he is not satisfied with a personality because he has no citizenship, he is a citizen of the world.

I believe you are missing the real point: that is, being actors, the vocation of the actor, a cold joker. Are you sure you are yourselves on the grand stage of life? Are you sure you are not embodying a thousand personalities??? And who are you, just computers set in the same way?? We're not there, because it's dandy what we are, therefore actors with multiple personalities. I have already requested Rai 2 to include me for the new edition of L'Isola dei Famosi.
