Out of curiosity, did you read it in NICK MASON's autobiography of PINK FLOYD? I went to check and it's exactly like that. My source was another book, but I should have looked here.

unfortunately... too much! you're right: you really have to not understand a damn thing about music to say that the album sucks... well done. I would really like to come to Udine with you, but I'm inclined not to waste money for nothing, so I'll stay home. I really want to wish you have fun.

You're right, anyway, even if it’s true that The Wall was entirely written by Waters, it's a serious mistake to say that the others didn't contribute much. Bob Ezrin reviewed the entire album and the arrangement of the songs as we hear them today. He wrote the music for TEH TRIAL and wrote IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE? entirely without ever receiving any credit. The best songs are written by Gilmour (Comfortably Numb, Run Like Hell). The idea is all Waters', the lyrics too, but the final product is as much his as it is Gilmour's and Bob Ezrin's. And that's exactly what the demo highlights, in my opinion.
