I don't think Björk is overrated; if we discuss her, there’s hardly anything left, or we dig up obscure names just for the sake of being “unique.” That said, I wholeheartedly agree with the review. While listening to the CD, I couldn’t tell if it was excellent or terrible (a bit like what happens to me when I listen to John Zorn's “Cobra” project). I don’t think it’s awful, and out of respect for her, it doesn’t deserve that label. I’ve come to a conclusion: is it conceptual art expressed in a sonic way? But then, where is the musicality? Well done, Punisher.

Rewind. It's true that one can easily chat about the work itself, and here I make a mea culpa, because otherwise every time one approaches a piece that isn’t by a "famous" composer, there's a risk of discussing things that only two people know about, without ultimately revealing whether that symphony or the sonata has features that I can recognize to assess whether to purchase it or not. This is also for my own benefit, so that if one day I want to review a classical music work, I can do so comfortably without falling into technical or academic evaluations; from your responses, I sense that you are not a fool. Sorry.

Nobody, my vote of 1 is obviously linked to the topic at hand, since I am not the reviewer. I expected JonOfP. to provide me with reasons why I should choose this performance over one by Yevgeny Svetlanov with the Philharmonia released in '91 or the more classic and imposing Karajan with the Berliner. I reiterate that we are discussing high-level conducting, not whether the 7th Symphony is this or that. I hope my arguments will be appreciated by JhonOfP.; as for the vote, I couldn't care less.

So let's reset everything. I didn’t mean to disrespect JohnOfP., far from it, but I believe he might also appreciate hearing from someone who may not fully agree with the review, discussing, of course, only the choice of the conductor (who, by the way, is excellent), but on this occasion, in my personal opinion, not perfectly suited. Let’s not bring up his past reviews with intimidating arguments like "learn", each of us carries a more or less rich cognitive background and it’s not up to me to compete on knowledge or to promote my musicological baggage.

I don't know the CD, but I know Weber also for the collaboration with Rypdall as well as obviously Garbarek, and then ECM is a guarantee, congratulations on the purchase suggestion.

Honestly, if you review Beethoven's 7th Symphony, you're barking up the wrong tree. Do you think a work like that needs your humble comment? No! So tell us about Dorati's conducting. I can tell you that Antal Dorati has a particular affinity for early 20th-century Romantic composers (see Respighi's "Pini di Roma"), but I don't see that connection with Beethoven.
