Anyway, let no one think that I am insensitive. ;-) Well-deserved for the courage and intellectual honesty.

"To rationalize, to contextualize, to pretend to find meanings: this is what kills music." On this phrase, we should open a fracture in the Earth's crust and divide the world into two Pangeas of musical thought. And I would certainly stand in the one that rationalizes, contextualizes, and pretends to find meanings. That said, I admit I am quite perplexed by what easycure stated in their review. I have adored and still adore Don Caballero and Stormandstress, and Ian Williams's intellectualism has always cast them in a good light for me. However, the sensation is that what you tried to express in the review feels a bit too forced, or (even just) goes beyond the reality of the album (I refuse to be thrown back to the other side for this phrase, among those who listen and don’t care to think). I haven't listened to the album yet, but I will do so as soon as possible. For now, I remain totally on hold: just exaggeration, or is it really a turning point? For me, the pinnacle of musical aesthetics and meaningfulness still remains the noise-ambient duo.

You clearly explained the concept of doublethink, which is very important in this story. The book is obviously excellent (it’s Orwell, even though it might have a somewhat outdated style compared to today’s standards or the tones with which that same story would be narrated today), but it should not be overlooked at all. I don’t agree with the idea that the film is meant for those who have already read the book, because the film follows the book step by step without omitting or skipping anything. Everything is there, including Winston Smith’s visions. Not a single passage has been left out. I actually believe that a product like this can be enjoyed almost as an alternative to the book (though with all the necessary caveats, since the terms of any personal vision on the part of the director in relation to the book are practically reduced to zero). It is certainly very faithful to the text, that’s for sure. Faithful “to the letter.”

But damn it. On paper, I should like these guys, yet there's something that just doesn't convince me at all about their music. I've listened to all their albums, but nothing.

I agree with the concept expressed by ThirdEye, 100 percent. And the last sentence of the review is worthy of a nomination at the literary case gala.
