I love the mythology that Lovecraft was able to create. I first read him in my freshman year of high school when my English teacher at the time lent me a collection of his stories. "The Witch House" stuck with me for a long time. Years later, when I revisited it driven by the good memory I had of that reading, it nearly made me feel pity. Could it really be the same author I read years before? The only noteworthy thing I remember is in "The Return of Cthulhu," when he talks about a creature "tall as kilometers." Now that’s a powerful image, for god's sake.
