Poletti, you read what you wanted to read, not what I wrote. Anyway, it makes me laugh those who see in the complexity of atypical narrative structures and in the creation of symbols that are both personal and universal so powerful that they become archetypes and even Language (with a capital L), a sort of lack of ideas on Lynch's part. You really have to have the nerve to make such nonsense claims. P.S.: beautiful Charlie ;)

It doesn't make much sense to praise the series Twin Peaks and the work done in it by Lynch (primarily as creator and co-creator) and then say that this film, which represents a summa of the series itself, is crap and that it doesn't represent a merit for its author. Fire Walk With Me is Twin Peaks. The characters are there, the atmospheres, the representation of evil, the semi-resolved mystery of Laura's story, and there’s its author. Not understanding this doesn't authorize one to tear it apart. The clues and symbols to grasp it are all there, in the film. Nothing present here is gratuitous.

Poletti, you don't understand a damn thing, just go back to watching Chaplin, it's better.

It's true, Charlie. There are few things as unsettling in cinema as this film. "I've been to one of their meetings," the appearance-disappearance of Philip Jeffries, a scene that alone is worth 100 years of cinema.

@defender85: the reference to Rossellini, for example. What does it have to do with anything?? And it's certainly not the 2 cameras (?) you mentioned that are at the center of so many important anecdotes related to that film, which, let's remember, was shot in part with film bought at the flea market. Or when you talk about the audience's perception in the '50s and digital special effects. It's obvious. Even the caveman wasn't used to seeing digital special effects. We aren't used to seeing people teleport, travel back in time 5 seconds, or having a clone of Silvia Saint at home.

poor monster victim of those four asshole scientists. I won’t rate the review because it’s full of inaccuracies, of pseudo technical clarifications of relevance but said lightly and completely wrong or out of place. The layman should focus on analyzing the plot, metaphors, and meanings of films and not overdo it with things they have no expertise in.
