You really overstepped with the story about the handheld camera to avoid betraying the aesthetics of the "newsreels of the time." But that's a really big stretch. Anyway, the rating is exaggerated. It should take into account, at least a bit more objectively, that the war scenes deserve a 5 for their care and especially their effectiveness, but the others are a solid 1. The "without rhetoric" certainly does not belong to the latter in this film.

make comment #11 from Oculto Supersovrano to be written by me. I have never understood the stubbornness of showing this film in schools to the detriment of the far more educational "The Pianist" (since, yes, Schindler's List is also deeply uneducational). If we remove the Holocaust, it remains a terrible film, and if we associate it with the Holocaust, it reveals its coarse and unbearable pompousness in all its glory. ONE. unequivocally ONE.
