I have a strange relationship with Sonic Youth. I don't like them at all, but I "respect" them a lot; all the while, I find them somewhat annoying. Confusion Is Sex is the album that I’ve found to be the most "authentic," on a level that's very different from the others, which are still valid. I could never take anything away from their work. They were a seminal band (spermatic, to say the least) and they made excellent records with style and personality. I'm going on like this because your review is so beautifully written that it made me want to listen to them.
