The b.r.m.c. are a more middle-class version of the Jesus & Mary Chain. The latter were much more deafening, chaotic, psychedelic, and more punk than the Black Rebel. That doesn’t take away from the fact that there’s quite a bit of good stuff among the Black Rebel's records. After all, the latter copy the Jesus pretty much exactly (especially in their poses and attitude), but in some cases, they’ve produced good music (especially in this album). Among all the neo-rock’n’roll bands, I think they are (or have been) the best.
