Audioslave make some solid hard rock and I kinda like them, even though the criticisms for this band are not lacking: what should Morello have done? Retire?? I believe that the choice to form a new band is the necessity of an artist to renew themselves and accept new challenges. If you don't like the rock of Audioslave, turn on MTV and spend the day there.

From here to calling this a masterpiece, there’s a long way to go with this album; one hopes that the best is yet to come. I hope this record has been mainly an "experiment" to get back to playing and to test the live performance. The lyrics are boring and repetitive, but the sound, folks, is pure rock 'n' roll, like we haven’t heard in a while. Recommended for those who love hard rock in particular.
