For me, guitarists like John Petrucci are really boring... I just don’t like them at all. I prefer guitarists who, within their genre, know how to move without desperately seeking the complicated solo and the mathematical riff.

Ah, the Polvo... I remember listening to one of their songs... I think it was "Tragic Carpet Ride," and I remember I liked it a lot, with that quirky and dissonant melody... truly great and bizarre.

Well, throughout the entire album, Renzulli indeed sticks to hard rock riffs, but in "Prima Guardia," his work, although quite simple, felt essential to the atmosphere of the song.

"Wake Up Dead Man" could very well be the masterpiece of the album. Bono plays the role of the drunkard to highlight his state of uncertainty and bewilderment, and the song manages to be much more poignant than the pop-infused tracks he used to write. If nothing else, the album sounds sincere (lyrically) even though, I repeat, it is still form that takes precedence over substance.

I absolutely need to get this album. The fusion between "California" and "Messico" is interesting, I had never thought about it...

I know that "Be Aggressive" was written by Roddy Bottum. By "leadership ability," I was simply referring to Patton's voice, the leading role he has in the album as the "protagonist" of the various atmospheres present in the songs; I don't know and I'm not interested in knowing the internal hierarchies of the band.
