Small Faces Ogden's Nut Gone Flake

I bought it a couple of years ago and due to a completely stupid distraction, I discovered that it had been taken from me more or less under my nose. Not even an hour after I paid for it... grrrrr!! Misfortune often strikes the best... it's a sad law. "Afterglow (Of Your Love)" though, could belong to no one else! Ardent rivals of the Who (even on a territorial level) and incredibly good.

And I thought that after "Exciter" (which I consider anything but outstanding, "Ultra" is much better) they wouldn't have any reason to exist anymore.

Well, Vinterriket isn't just that if it's one of your favorite albums, it's also one of mine.

There's little to say: fantastic. A beautiful album... unforgettable "Rend It," "Smallpox Champion," and "Great Cop."

"Better 'In Utero' for me. Slightly overrated."

The track that perhaps comes closest to grunge is "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" (from "Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness").

For me, the Pumpkins preserve the emotional charge and pathos of grunge, but their songs are much closer to the hard rock of the '70s and heavy metal (not to mention episodes like "Porcelina Of The Vast Oceans" or "Silverfuck" itself, where traces of art-rock, folk, and Velvet Underground-esque noise can be found).

I bought it a long time ago, and at first, I struggled to absorb it. Later, "Today" started giving me those pangs of nostalgia that often push me to change tracks because I'm at risk of bursting into tears, and "Geek U.S.A." made me angrier than few others. Note well: both comments should be understood in a positive sense, as they represent two manifestations of emotional engagement with the music. And what to say: "Silverfuck" is an absolutely mind-blowing trip, with that mix of distortions, sudden calm, and deafening walls of sound... in short, it's really a beautiful album.

Oh yes, that's right, but I infinitely prefer those albums. I don't think there's a problem with that.
