Thank you, dear wrecking ball (of trust, without the s)!!! It's true, Hal, it looks like an ECM cover, in the style of the great photographer Roberto Masotti! This must have attracted me, most likely... Hasta luego, JoP ;))

A beautiful and fun review for a truly... disgusting album. I don’t know why every time I heard “Aserejé” on the radio I would start experiencing hay fever symptoms... watering eyes, sneezes, tingling hands, a general sense of malaise... Fortunately, the jingle disappeared from the airwaves, and I recovered... The 666 "tomato" on the cover is simply ridiculous. At least the Police had taken care to "camouflage" their number a bit better, making the message more subliminal... To be buried.

Great advice, Hal!!! Gary Burton is a gap that should be filled here in DeB. I really think I'll take your suggestion... ;)) Just a few days ago, I happened to listen again to an old compilation CD featuring some of Burton's earliest recordings, with a couple of standards like "Stella by Starlight" and "Hello, Young Lovers." Pure virtuosity!!! Gudbài to you too ;))

Francesco, many of the albums you've reviewed I'm not familiar with, but your writing style is intriguing and I really like it... Keep it up!!!

What a great quote, Hal! "Children's songs" for me is a tenderly unsettling album. I haven't listened to it in a while, but I should dust it off... Simple and childlike as intended, yet revealing a certain something dark in some tracks, perhaps even melancholic... Saludos ;)) JoP

The album is a cornerstone, and the review is beautiful. "Triumphant" is the right adjective for "La Fiesta," covered many times by Chick, and extraordinary also in the version on another album, "Duet," with the great Gary Burton on vibraphone. Bye ;)

Rancid, for me you should write a treatise on the art of provocation... But I think your "inner feeling" isn't exactly as you write. You're too extreme-extremophile. Bye ;)

I don't know them. But... well done, Giov! You perfectly captured the feeling that certain albums give you, leaving you pondering... Beautiful? Ugly? Will they just collect dust? Was it worth buying them?... In short, between hell and paradise, in the end, we almost always settle for a more equitable... purgatory (perhaps for those who bought them). Bye ;)

Nothing to add, except my warmest congratulations. Perfect review for an exceptional artist like Amon Tobin. "Ordem e Progresso," reads the "brasileira" flag, and so it is in electronics. Well done.
