Keith Jarrett The Melody At Night With You

Regarding the speech of April, I would like to remember Keith Jarrett's wonderful "I Will Remember April" from "Tokyo '96," featuring that incredible drum solo by Jack DeJohnette... Vitalism in its ultra-pure state!

"Years pass quickly, and when you turn thirty, the world rushes by. Everything rushes by. And you above the world." Beautiful review, Massimof, even if this sentence, for someone close to thirty, is a bit frightening :)) The album, on the other hand, among KJ's works, is the one that resonates least with my personal taste, and despite all my efforts and repeated listens, alas, I can't bring myself to like it. The only thrill I catch, for a moment, in this album is in "I got it bad and that ain't good." Perhaps it's because in this record, more than a love serenade, I can mainly feel those scars of chronic fatigue syndrome that had struck Keith during that period. And it is known that when something is too close to you, you can't judge it with the right detachment.

"Ophelia, she is 'neath the window/for her I feel so afraid/ on her twenty second birthday/ she is already an old maid..." An essential disco, and the sole "Desolation Row" would warrant an entire book of commentary by itself!

A brilliant review from the first to the last line. As for the rest, I don't know what to say... I'm a bit "alexitimic" at the moment (that is, a bit mentally confused :)) and I'm not familiar with the album (but it intrigues me!). Hello everyone and see you soon, JoP
Charlie Haden American Dreams

What beautiful memories this album brings! A gift from a dear friend, it’s one of Charlie Haden’s records that I’ve listened to the most. One note in particular for the stunning ā€œTravelsā€ (here truly touching), so silky, relaxed, calm, and seductive. And with a moment of truly telepathic dialogue between Mehldau’s soft piano and Charlie Haden’s bass here heartfelt like never before. I also greatly appreciate the carefree and light reading of ā€œBird Food,ā€ precisely because (as you observed very well, dear bassist) it’s truly an ā€œanomalousā€ piece in the economy of this album, definitely oriented toward a meditative and intimate tone. A perfect 5-star review, detailed and spot on! JoP

Great Charlie Haden, not only an immense artist musically but also "committed" in the most positive sense of the term. Perfect review that truly honors this extraordinary poet of the double bass. However, I still need to fully absorb this album (I've had it for too short a time) but I know it will grow over time, listen after listen. Well done Mr. Green Genes, I've been waiting for this review of yours!! JoP

@ my dear sfascia (of trust, as obvious), but you know that I care about you a lot and that I'm a fan of your mythical "sfascesco." One day you should teach it to me too!! :)) Sorry if I had forgotten, but I’ve been a bit "fluttery" lately :))

@ Feuerbach: you are great! "Man is what he eats" :)) And I can assure you that lately it’s been a lot of chocolate pastries (right, inconvenient anonymous?). @ senmayan: thanks. You reminded me of Etty Hillesum: "Once you start walking with God, you simply continue to walk, and life becomes one long, continuous stroll." And again, from Etty: "And if God does not help me, then I will be the one to help God." Hello everyone, and heartfelt thanks, JoP
