x lucabbrasi: I would like to add that you are a good person, the fascists were good people just like the communists, and the equal treatment is more important than our pointless, reactionary, and reiterated freedom of speech. I leave you to the claws of Scaruffi. I conclude with a "tactical" piece of advice: spouting nonsense like what you directed at Michele Mari under a review of Bob Dylan is as bold as listening to Mozart in the Take That fan club. Best regards.

..."Tiger Roach," "Frownland," "Moonlight On Vermont"... damn it, accuse me of anything, but not of not adoring the legendary Captain!!! :-)

not to mention the brilliant "Sure Nuff 'N' Yes I Do," which was honored by XTC in "Poor Skeleton Steps Out"; not to mention the fact that Captain Beefheart's sound and voice have heavily influenced all of Tom Waits at least since "Rain Dogs" and definitely from "Bone Machine"!

(about Captain Beefheart) be careful not to misunderstand: abstruse anarchy was said in a descriptive sense, it wasn't a negative criticism! "Her eyes are a blue million miles" is one of my desert island songs!

Good job. It's those 2 or 3 ratings of the Beatles' albums (which nonetheless don't deserve more than a 6+ up to and excluding Revolver) that reveal how his judgment is tinted, meaning there's an attempt at downplaying. This should be the result of careful analysis, not an integral (and often vulgar) part of the discourse. To downplay Bowie, for instance, one could simply say – as I was the first to do (read my post on the review of Earthling) – that he has NEVER invented anything. Instead, he labels him a mediocre composer and a pathetic individual. And so, fuck off! [If you check his site today, those expressions about Bowie have disappeared: the effect of my storm of emails from the singer's fans, which nonetheless contain a tide of huge nonsense in their own right].
