A teacher, almost a father. Great review.

Sorry to interrupt, but I believe you haven't understood Pretazzo's addenda. You see, I think he meant to assert (in his own way, of course) the same things you've expressed, with the substantial difference (which I fully agree with) that you cannot give a film a 1 when it features: the screenplay by Schrader, a highly risky reinterpretation (never done before and bravely proposed in this film), in which Jesus Christ fights God by making crosses for the Romans, and finally, a blasphemy in the dialogues never heard before. Pretazzo was trying to explain to you just how great Martin Scorsese is as a Catholic who puts himself on the line while addressing a subject so close to his heart, from a perspective that is very, very different from what Pasolini (whom I personally ADORE in his unique interpretation of the Gospel, just think of the "assassin squads" of young men dressed as fascists who kill the firstborn on Nero's orders) or previous and subsequent attempts to interpret Christ's deeds (see Mel Gibson) have done. It's therefore a reprimand to those who casually dismiss a film that from the very beginning introduces itself with a spontaneous and explicit indication preceding the credits stating that "this is not a film about the real life of Jesus.." and quoting the words of Kazantzakis's preface. It's all very simple, to me, you're saying the same thing.

... apart from the fact that you can review movies for a while now.. if you don't believe it, go here and check the date: La Casa Dalle Finestre Che Ridono - Pupi Avati - Recensione di ingenuapupattola -------- La casa stregata - Bruno Corbucci - Recensione di Stràfiko Piezzecore And anyway, cheer up everyone: come on, for a little heated chatter.. how much sadness!

Bravo! Vote 10. I'm glad there are people around who lack the practicality and clarity to interpret others' thoughts. It's amazing(!). Not to mention the way you impose your ego (narcissistically) on every one of my comments... I was in tears, really! Now let me reassure you: no one wants to harm you, nor do they want to attack the entire load of the 90s with the aberrations (many in my opinion) and the evolutions they have brought (?). And then... now explain to me how, when, where, at what time, and at what coordinates I would have dared to attack a hypothetical leftist ideology! I challenge you, tell me where, in the "Polish corridor" perhaps? The reality is that your way of thinking may also seem correct (or perhaps corrupted?), but what most lodges in my mind is precisely that "lack" that you try to attribute to me, when you yourself peddle comments loaded with gratuitousness (as frivolous and populist, a sign of YOUR attachment to a specific and stagnant way of engaging in dialogue with others) as if you were distributing Goebbelsian flyers from days gone by. I admit to being a goddamn Esau, sometimes full of poison and revenge, but in reality, I am a goat barely living off cheese and termites, expressing nothing but my feeble (this term is trendy right now!) opinion to you catatonic ones. Nevertheless, I find you, or rather, I find you all really likable! Just one thing, I am not Hitler... I unfortunately resemble Charles Bronson (or Buchinski)!! And my nickname is Mr. Baffo (but I am NOT HITLER!!!), see to believe!

Tsè! As for that, I’ve been dead for 50 years! Just think, I now live underground (with the worms) and by feeding on them (literally) I face the slow and wearing flow of infinity. The only thing that still gets me up (I think it’s rigor mortis) is Funhouse by Iggy Pop. What a sad life. Well, I guess I’ll vote for Platinette, and the Muse will be the new Nirvana, and Cristiano Godano is Nick Cave’s ass-f***er, and Elvis is still alive and selling hot dogs.
Yes, in a few years, underground, similar things will happen, or maybe they are already happening on the surface...?
Just to be safe, I’ll eat a bit more asbestos, just… to pass the time…

I feel like sneering at any Christian (and non) de-baserian who still hasn't realized that you can also review movies on this site.. Anyway: dear NICKGHOST D., I "fully" share your in-depth and probing analysis of a film that left me literally unmoved and bored. The golden age of good cinema has been dead long before people like Cameron Diàz took their first breath. De Niro, a photocopy of his feticist friend (and great) Martin, along with Scorsese himself, hasn't produced anything good in at least twenty years (except for Ronin, or maybe even Sesso e Potere, a film definitely more unusual in its content).
Forget it, folks, cinema is dead along with all the outdated CDs you have on display. To not miss it, do this: go buy yourself a pack of cigarettes, a good book, and take them to the first place that has a bit of peace and quiet. You'll see that the money spent on both items will have a definitely more pleasant influence on you than languishing away watching movies like this, Hannibal Lecter, Notte prima del Cristo, or Manuale d'odore..
