Oasis (What's The Story) Morning Glory?
Voto:
I didn’t know "when you sleep" by My Bloody Valentine, so I listened to a live version on YouTube. Unfortunately, the audio quality was terrible, but at first glance, it does seem like a pleasant and successful song. To be honest, though, I really don't think we can talk about the usual verse-chorus structure because the latter really seems to be missing; the main melody is actually left to an instrumental part that repeats after each verse and effectively replaces the function of the classic vocal chorus.

Not here, really. Anyway, there are samples if you want to get an idea.
Pink Floyd London 1966/1967

I’m not a fan of Pink Floyd, but I have to admit that the first version of "Interstellar Overdrive" is spectacular, especially considering the era in which it was conceived; it was truly "ahead of its time." Moreover, you can sense a "desire to scratch" that is lacking in a good part of our discography.

As I already told you, I agree with you on the importance of HOW a song is proposed (everyone has their personal tastes to determine whether that HOW is valid or not), but the ABC pattern of pop verse-chorusmoreofteninthmajor-vers e is, to me, a flaw. It can be remedied if that HOW we were talking about is well done, but it remains a flaw, a demonstration of the author's laziness, I'd say. Personally, I think the Oasis repertoire (or at least what has reached my ears, which is a couple of albums and a few singles) is lacking in both respects.

"Appetite.." is the bible of another worn-out variant of the rock song schema: verse-chorus-solo. There's no need for me to tell you that Slash's solos are not good examples of "intelligent instrumental transition."

"Appetite for Destruction by Guns'..." I would say you couldn't find a better example to illustrate banality in music, and it's worth mentioning that there are plenty of critics (including the esteemed Scaruffi) who consider it a landmark album...

I imagine the reviewer is biased in favor of Don Camillo!

I'm stuck on "Dub Housing," "Waiting For Mary," but I must have heard it on YouTube; it didn't leave a strong impression on me. Good reception.

So buy it because they've done even better than "Tainted Love".
