If I'm not mistaken, the beginning of "Like A Melody" was sampled by our own Cappella for the dancefloor hit "U Got 2 Let The Music." Just pop from the Alphas, yes, but back then (and even today) there wasn't much better in the charts.

Can I say it? The video for "Gioca con me" is shot with a lack of skill.

Well, of course you can see more disgusting things on the web! However, I don't recall ever seeing a music video that goes this far. I read that Tim Pope on his site mentions that the video survives only on some old VHS tapes because the original and almost all copies were destroyed by censorship. This video, by the way, was also left out of the latest DVD compilation of the Cells. That must mean something. What disturbs me the most about the "Sex Dwarf" video is its wink to the world of snuff (or is it just me seeing it?).

@Brian: I take inspiration from your comparison to De André to respond: "Chi va dicendo in giro che odio il mio lavoro/non sa con quanto amore mi dedico al tritolo/è quasi indipendente ancora poche ore/poi gli darò la voce il detonatore" from "Il Bombarolo"; even this phrase, out of context, may seem like something pulled from the diary of a sixteen-year-old aspiring Unabomber or from a bored trust fund kid wanting to play at being an anarchist. With this, I am not criticizing De André's work, which I had the opportunity to listen to some time ago and found very valid, but rather your way of judging by extrapolating only a small part of the work when it should be assessed in its entirety (and as Laggio says, the artist's interpretation also needs to be taken into account, not just the written letter). I suggest you listen to a couple of our full works (which, from what I understand, you have never truly listened to); you might not like it, but at least you can form a less superficial judgment than what you have now.

Brian: well, if you take those lines out of context, they might seem shallow, but in the overall work they refer to, they certainly have meaning (and here I direct you to the review of "The Divine Punishment" on this site, which, by the way, is very well written). The other criticism you make is also easy to dismiss; of course, Galàs prefers dark hues (never gratuitous, though), but if you listen to "The Sporting Life" or "La Serpenta Canta," she also has her sunny moments or at least ones that are more "entertainer."

Galàs is NOT a Satanist. I haven't listened to this CD yet either, because "Vena Cava" was enough to sink me. However, it’s not out of the question that, caught up in a moment of masochism, I might go and get it for myself.
