Well, masterpiece I don't know, but it is indeed a good album. There are maybe things already done by various Ministry, Foetus, Skinny Puppy... but it's all well synthesized with personality. Compositionally, we are far from both the kitsch of Pretty Hate Machine and the monotonous pomp of The Fragile. I've never appreciated Reznor as a singer, but here he comes off better, also thanks to drier vocal parts compared to the "Vasco Rossi of industrial rock" anthems of his early days. Ultimately, as many have said, a work that happily combines underground and accessibility, a kind of "Nevermind" of industrial rock.

I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that.

Utter nonsense, at this point the films of Fennech are better. If you want to watch a great erotic film, I instead recommend "Ecco l'impero dei Sensi" by Oshima (of course the uncut version).

All suicides are sad, but in Curtis's case, there was a good dose of youthful unawareness and impulsiveness (as well as physical distress) while Borland died at a mature age after being tested by the many defeats life had in store for him, and this perhaps makes it even more sorrowful. I also agree with the introduction of the review: Joy Division are immense but they have overshadowed many contemporary bands that are at least just as good (I think of Josef K, A Certain Ratio, and indeed The Sound), even though this is more of a fault of the music press. Putting aside the chatter, this is a great album ("I Can't Escape Myself" is immense) but I also prefer the subsequent "From The Lion's Mouth."

Undoubtedly influential in terms of sound and imagery. However, on a compositional level, it just doesn't convince me; it feels almost like a musical (albeit a grotesque one). Better, although not by much, are "Nail" and "Thaw."

I also predict that Nadal will end up like Courier and Wilander.

@Bubi: I think it's inaccurate to define serve and volley players like Sampras and especially Federer. They were excellent both from the baseline and at the net, very complete players, but they are/were not specialists in s&v.

@Lewis: Edberg wasn’t a shooting star; he spent 10 years in the top ten, won 6 slams like Becker, had a year and a half at No. 1, but above all, when McEnroe struggled to see the ball with the advent of new rackets, Stefan was achieving results with a CLASSIC PURE serve & volley style. I emphasize pure because other great attackers like Becker and Sampras aimed straight for the ace and then followed the serve to the net.
