Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness

: D After all, little black puppy, you're a joker, and since you're starting to grow on me, I want to extend the olive branch and offer you the chance to redeem yourself: please retract the MEGAGALACTIC nonsense of "Mellon Collie album + greatest of the 90s" and I will absolve you of all your sins, tell me it was a provocation, a joke, tell me that "greatest of the 90s" only referred to the Smashing Pumpkins' discography, or tell me that Corgan is your relative, that the album was given to you by a beloved aunt or that you started pleasuring yourself looking at pictures of D'Arcy, or tell me that at home in the 90s album collection you only have this and "Happy Birthday Elvis" ...... but I implore you, take it back, if you want you can come out of the tunnel, together we can make it.....

@ I have a penis: don't try to twist things, you were the one who called me a fool first, also because I have reason to believe that between me and Corgan, your hero is him. I've been writing about Mellon Collie for four months because I only listened to it in full a few months ago. Back in '96, the singles were enough to keep me away from the Smashing Pumpkins, then, like Lord in the comment above, I was stunned by so many lavish praises and five-star reviews, and I went to download this masterpiece, only to find myself with a less than mediocre disc. Consequently, I just wanted to express my disgust and disappointment. If you've been listening to the Smashing since you were a kid, I bet it's also that nostalgia that makes you see them as geniuses. To say that there are no clichés in Mellon Collie but that this is how rock should be done puts you on par with a fan of Vasco Rossi.

Then it seems to me that calling someone a "coglionazzo" is a sign of not having any arguments and not knowing how to respond.

What do you want me to tell you my dear? I have the member, if this disc is rock then it means I hate rock. And I’m sorry to disappoint you, but of the bands you mentioned I have maybe three or four mp3s, so I won’t remind you that I listen to them.

But by any chance Io Ho Il Pene, are you also KimDealSsHOT and Blackdog? Anyway, my comment was blunt only because I didn't feel like repeating what I've already written in the reviews of Noquito and Anonima Recensori. All the genres you mentioned could be present in this mishmash, pardon, colossal, but it's all stuff that's been heard a million times, a compilation of the most vulgar clichés of American rock 'n' roll dragged out. For some, it might be enjoyable (De gustibus), but for me, it really sucks, quite a bit.

Wow, I hadn't even noticed the immense esoteric symbolism! So I was wrong, I really need to reassess it, it's truly a great album, immense I would say.

Nice, but I don’t have the record.

Horrible and cloying record, one of the biggest flops of the nineties. I agree with the review only on the phrases "but what is this whine??!" and "The Pumpkins may be liked or disliked."

Yes, but I’ll tell you that even that ball of "The Fragile" becomes an interesting album when compared to this mishmash of American rock clichés that is "Mellon Collie & the Infinite Shit." Rather than listen to this fluff again, I might as well join Reznor's fan club...

"I'll be even clearer: the greatest album of the nineties." Perhaps it's unfair to point out the plank in your eye, Blackdog, but isn't this just a galactic bullshit written by yourself?
