AA.VV. Eurovision Song Contest - Helsinki 2007

An event that ideally brings Europe together outside of the Champions League matches is both fascinating and interesting, but I too have some doubts about the quality of the musical offerings at the Eurofestival, as it is still a prime-time show that must try at all costs to please everyone, making it difficult for anything truly interesting to emerge. Then, if memory serves me right, didn’t our Toto Cotugno win an edition in the 90s? Just that alone is a sign of quality. I’ve never followed the Eurofestival, but how far removed is the musical proposal from the usual Anglo-American models? In the end, is the difference merely linguistic? I ask this question because I have seen Vietnamese singing competitions, and alongside traditional music, there were horrifying clones of the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears with almond-shaped eyes (though not even that since they often undergo eyelid surgery). In simple terms: isn’t it always the same globalized crap, just sung in different languages?

Never liked them. Rather than press the button, I would pull the chain.

Wow, what a cover! It looks like Gary Numan. I've listened to a few tracks from his later albums, fun but not exceptional. Technically, his debut album is often talked about as his best; I’ll have to give it a "listen." Smooth and enjoyable review.

A beautiful film, so captivating that its length doesn’t weigh heavily at all.
Gronge Fase Di Rigetto

Ha, I almost forgot, some former gronge have done much better with the Zu project. That's a nice group.

Incredible are also the comments from those idiots who criticized KrYsTaL because they found the term "marocchino" offensive (maybe they are the real racists). And if someone really comes from Morocco, what the hell should we call him to not offend him?
Tiziano Ferro Rosso Relativo

Absolutely mind-blowing Tiziano Ferro, I think that "L'Olimpiade Dell'Anima" is one of the ugliest and most pointless songs ever written, complete with a horrifying video featuring synchronized dancing and dancers of color to give it a more ghetto vibe. Not to mention that the first time I heard "Xdono," I thought it was a cover by Jennifer Lopez (trash of the trash).

Uhm... They remind me of the best Gazosa.

But are the Finleys the ones from the Kinder Delice commercial?

I'm giving you a three just for the phrase "in maniera maestrale" that had me cracking up. The "indie" turning point, in my opinion, was this: "we're not selling shit with hip hop, let's try to make a bit of pop-punk like it's trendy in America right now." Too bad these two who haven't lived up to the title of this big record are still around.
