However, Scaruffi claims to give space to his emotions, just like all of us, after all. So if he likes Aqua and likes the Beatles less, that's totally fine; these are just opinions. Opinions that I respected: when I read his comments about Dead Can Dance being "empty music, little substance" and saw a terrible rating for Immortal Memory by the great Lisa, I thundered with rage (I can understand the low ratings for Duality, Whalerider, and Mirror Pool; they are indeed mediocre, but woe to anyone who touches Immortal Memory): me, who went through so much trouble to find their entire discography, ALL-OF-IT!!! And I don't mean just the regular albums you find in the store across the street, but also the latest compilation "Dead Can Dance" that was not released in Italy, that coveted LP "Garden of Arcane Delights" (I only found it at a stall at the Vichy fair), and, last but definitely not least, the even more coveted DVD of the last tour, that 2005 one: I managed to reserve it even though it was a limited edition!!!!! ... Anyway, I reluctantly shared his choice, even though it left a bitter taste in my mouth. However, Scaruffi does himself a disservice by declaring himself the Supreme Music Critic; in fact, he is not modest at all, I would even dare say he is rather vain, and believes he can create a definitive list of the most beautiful albums... or rather, those he liked the most. On this he is indeed mistaken: whether he is a respected professor at Harvard and a famous music critic or the last man on earth, it doesn't matter; everyone has their own tastes which, if appropriate, can be questioned but always respected. It is also true that, almost paradoxically, all or almost all the albums at the top of the rankings are "in fact" the most beautiful.

Yes, Sylvian, but Scaruffi is not God on Earth. However, I share this view with him. It’s sad, indeed very sad, to evaluate an artist based on sales. It is mainly thanks to him that we have discovered excellent but completely unknown artists, Lisa Germano first and foremost.
Jethro Tull Stand Up

Nice review and very pleasant album. A five, however, I fear that the great Jan can't afford: the Tull's career is made up of masterpieces (A passion play, this was, aqualung, thick as a brick) and unique trash (rock island, war child, and the last vomit-inducing the christmas album). Stand Up is a happy middle ground.

Sorry, but to me, Music with a capital "M" is something else... Just a matter of taste.
