The concept itself is fine, as he was a tremendous bassist, possibly underestimated (he passed away last year). But before him, there were John Entwistle and Jack Bruce in England who established the bass as a "solo" instrument! Do these names mean anything to you???!!

If another band had done it, it would have been a masterpiece, but we expect badass music from the RHCP!!! Anyway, I would be cautious about saying they're done for... just listen to "mini-epic" or "kill for your country," it’s a song performed live that might be on the new album, very powerful, gives hope... even after "One Hot Minute" they were considered finished, even though the album was very good, and then they released "Californication"... I believe "Stadium Arcadium" will be a great album, a double one! Of course, they are getting older...
