I don't think Tool, Dream Theater, Symphony X can be lumped together in one category... In my opinion, Don Caballero are much more progressive than any of the aforementioned bands...

These, just like Dream Theater or their ilk, have a very technical musical setup; here, every similarity with progressive rock ends. Then, for labeling purposes, it was deemed appropriate to call it prog metal, but it’s quite easy to understand that there are very few common points between these and Genesis or King Crimson or Yes.

It's a nice review because we can all relate to your experiences, but, as you pointed out, perhaps with different albums. Mine was another collection, Remasters by Led Zeppelin; from then on, I understood that music would not just be a casual listening experience.

Ridiculous and silly operation. As a Christmas listen, I recommend "Santamental" by Steve Lukather. Anyway, at Christmas people are kinder but also more foolish :-)
