Crimson Moonlight The Covenant Progress

I completely agree with you, Monsieur Sfascia carrozze: behind supposed religious principles, there often lie unlistenable musical offerings. Metal is primarily music, and it matters little if there is a heartfelt or religiously significant text that serves as a facade for the poor musical proposal.

Well, merging Christian lyrics with the unprecedented violence of black metal is a bit like trying to please everyone; it’s a hit-or-miss approach. However, the Christian movement within metal had already found expressions in some AOR/hard rock bands (e.g., Stryper), where those religious themes fit well with the airy music of that genre. On the other hand, I find it hard to imagine hymns to the Lord with a background of double bass and "buzzsaw" guitars. Let’s remember that a band like Saviour Machine, a gothic band with a declared Christian faith, nonetheless faced significant challenges given the dark and gloomy characteristics of their sound.

As Edward Van Halen once said: "AC/DC always play the same song, but what a song!

Good review, but for God's sake, let’s not compare it to Jarrett...

In my opinion, one of the most overrated bands in the metal scene. They made two great albums, Episode and Visions, but both the previous and the subsequent production seem to me to be strikingly flat. They know how to play, but their songwriting ability, if it doesn't stray from the usual Malmsteen and Helloween, is almost close to zero.

I don't understand why the Snakepit project is regularly overlooked. I consider it more than decent, even superior to the highly acclaimed Velvet Revolver.
Angra Freedom Call

Good review, but considering an album that features two new tracks, remixes, and covers as a fundamental step in Angra's career seems excessive to me.

Indeed, more than a review, it seems like a declaration of love for an album.
Steve Vai Live, Milano Alcatraz 25.9.2005

Horrible review that gives more credence to those who see him merely as a poser. Those who know Vai well understand that he is not just an exhibitionist but a musical genius, misunderstood by those who insist on lumping him in with the super guitarists, immense for those who go beyond genres and classifications.

I completely agree with the last comment. Given the great success, they have also attracted, as often happens, some hostility from the envious. The quality of their musical proposal is undeniable.
