great album really, I like it more than we live and almost as much as let us prey which for me is a masterpiece on par with dopethrone.. the first 3 alone are worth the price of the album, it's more relaxed yes but the title track sounds quite imposing and beautifully heavy, then Jus is an extraordinary singer I've always liked his voice and he did well to put it in the foreground because it’s fucking doom and obsessive! highlights of the album: the final part of "Satanic Rites of Drugula"... it's so stunning..!!

Yes, I was also undecided whether to give it a 3 or a 4, so I'm averaging it. At the time, it was described to me as one of the best stoner albums, but I was a bit disappointed... better "wild wonderful purgatory," which would deserve a solid 5 just for the cover..!

Karma to Burn are a great band, but I'm more fascinated by their instrumental albums. Right now I'm listening to the latest from Electric Wizard. I think it will annoy Lexus because it's the usual stoner and the usual doom. I, on the other hand, like it precisely because it's the usual stoner and the usual doom.

"Metal is a transcendent immaterial force that completely permeates you if you know how to embrace it within yourself, and it has the power to touch your most hidden strings, precisely because it is direct and instinctive, bloody and fierce like the animal that sleeps inside you, suffocated by millennia of civilization."

I see it in a completely different way; the problem is not how you do it but what you do. If you play spacedoom like Ufomammut, drool over Neurosis, and appreciate Isis or Yob, you know very well what the standards are for developing your music. Even with all the passion in the world, you're just making a copy of a copy of an album you've already heard hundreds of times, recycling ideas from others without developing your own. The choice to create a solely instrumental project is even more limiting in this regard, as it completely eliminates any minimal trace of originality. Those who listen to the genre are very conservative (a bit like in heavy metal); the important thing is that if you play hard and psychedelic with long, monotonous space-jams and high durations, you will be considered an anti-commercial band and, so to speak, of "cult" status, especially in Italy, where those who play this way do not have widespread support and are fundamentally niche.

"Imagine a scene like this, where the members of the legendary Earth unexpectedly find themselves in the park with Neurosis and decide to do something together, blending it seamlessly with the dreamy rhythms of Mogwai and certain Goodspeed You! Black Emperor. I think anyone familiar with the genre already has this sound vision in mind even before listening to the record... nothing new under the sun, who knows how many times they've listened to Godlike Snake trying to reproduce it as precisely as possible... a bit like the second wave of stoner, where all the musicians in the scene had a copy of Blues for the Red Sun under their pillows..."

I wonder if my GRANDMA also condemns the HOF like the EW... I’ll try to call her and then I’ll let you know..

Oh, and then I wanted to ask you, do you share my opinion on HOF? Or do you like their "turnaround"? By "turnaround," I mean the last three albums, considering that I now believe the true HOF is this lineup. Do you think the ones from artofselfdefense were still SLEEP?? Not in terms of the members aside from Pike, but in terms of the huge influence..!!
