look at the fact that kirk hammett is musically not very skilled, well we’ve all come to that conclusion. in my opinion (and not just mine, but millions of people around the world), hammett is very good at constructing solos. if you say he’s monotonous because he always constructs them in pentatonic scales, I agree with you up to that point. but he’s not the first, in fact thousands of guitarists have always lived off this scale.

Well, I don't know from what perspective you're judging it, but Hammett, in terms of creativity, I believe is one of the best solo guitarists in the metal scene. It always depends on personal taste, though. Anyway, it's true that Friedman is also a fantastic musician as well as a performer.

You're right, but you're also taking things a bit too literally. Anyway, I said not to involve Fripp because you practically said not just a prog icon, not just a genius, someone who has experimented beyond (as the anonymous person in the first message took the words out of my mouth) one of the few I consider untouchable.

Anyway, earlier I said something stupid because prog also had its great guitarists like Franco Mussida from PFM, who was the greatest guitarist in Italian rock. It’s just that the guitarists of the '60s were something else altogether.

Ritchie Blackmore better than Jimmy Page??? I don't know from what perspectives you are comparing them. I play the guitar and I find that many songs by Deep Purple, including the solos, are playable even for a not excellent guitarist, while Page's solos and live jams are something else entirely. Moreover, in my opinion, Page composed the most beautiful song of the twentieth century: Stairway to Heaven.
