A somewhat simplistic reading in my opinion. It's not a brilliant film, but it has its reasons. It’s a senile Nanni Moretti making a senile film, which makes sense at this point in time. He can afford it, in my opinion. Even the acting and the dialogues on the brink of aphasia are significant of the historical moment and his moment as an author. You can't read a Moretti film as if it were made by a novice; sure, the second part has a somewhat dry handling of the narrative, but it’s not all to throw away... maybe I'll send you my review that I hadn't shared here because there was already one.
