Pretazzo, you're right. But the progressive didn't have the ANTI-MUSICAL attitude of Beefheart. I believe the two works can't be compared because prog was nonetheless an extension, an evolution of rock 'n' roll. In fact, it would become a "popular" genre in the sense of being known. Beefheart had different ambitions, equally (if not more) daring, but the fact remains that his music is music for a few, so I would think twice before discussing influences.

It's not that perhaps you have read too many reviews instead of listening to this record and now you're tired of hearing about it? The reviews I've read have never seemed excellent to me, and I don't just think I've described the good parts (which is still valid in my opinion), but I've also indicated the GENERAL directions in which the record moves ("in a record that seeks a way toward the future while drawing from the past...immense gaze toward the sky and the future... 'The Court Of Crimson King' what does it mean? A majestic medieval stride narrating the first emperor of the modern age. The philosophy of the Crimson (and of Prog) is all here; to use the tools of the past in a modern key; that is, modernizing the past"). Perhaps the only observation you could have made was that I mentioned things already well-known. But not all readers are as knowledgeable as you, and I wanted to offer my perspective on an important record so that the kids who don't know it yet might be interested.

Well, but you check if I mention the names of the musicians, but you don’t read that I describe the various parts of the pieces (hysterical and affected singing, guitar tearing through the sky) and it doesn’t seem to me that I’m doing it incorrectly. Then, if in your opinion to write a good review on The Court I should only write the bibliography and you insinuate that I’ve copied it from others, well, I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t agree, and that’s that.

the review is accurate, but I don’t agree with the ratings of the individual tracks, which for me are much less brilliant than those of the debut.

Well, I don't agree. All the reviews I've read have never satisfied me when it comes to the analysis of individual pieces. I also don't share what pier-paolo_farina says because you can't judge a review based on what you already know; you need to evaluate what is said and especially how. So I think a review like mine is more than good for anyone who wants to learn about this type of record. If you’ve already read too much about this CD, that’s certainly not my fault. I don’t have to invent intriguing stories to review a classic! I review like this, and that doesn't seem to me at all like a 2-star job.

The old review, while very beautiful, was biased and did not accurately describe all the tracks.
