I can't stand those who come here trying to show off with guys like me. Midlife crisis has a lot to say in the nu metal scene; first of all, the steady rhythm, then the singing style, the explosive chorus, the guitars, the backing vocals, the almost spoken rap, the raw timbre, the vaguely electronic interlude, the rarefied atmosphere in the end. All of this reminds me of nu metal.

But in my opinion, your judgment is too based on tastes and not on concepts. Aside from the anonymous person who doesn't know what sincerity is and confuses it with arrogance, the fact that I described some songs (or even half of them) differently than you think doesn't mean that my review is bad, lackluster, or wrong. Look at the concepts, damn it!

The problem with debaser is that many people focus on the little details in a review (like the fact that they didn't mention that "easy" isn't theirs) instead of the overall concept. I wrote this review with commitment and attention, and if Fidia tells me that, for him, "Midlife Crisis" doesn't resemble nu-metal at all, well, I stick to my opinion. But it’s quite annoying to read certain comments, like the one from Saputello, because they are gratuitous and unexplained. Understated why?? Because I like FNM less than you do and I don't praise them enough? I believe I've hit the mark with this review and haven’t written nonsense, but rather sensible and thoughtful things. Yet here on debaser, perhaps amiability or reviewing an unknown album just to be liked counts for more.

"the harmonization of the corporeal-mental state in an infinite flow of lost reminiscences, elementary cosmic chaos and a mass of plasticized lunar dust that flows in the veins slowly like the speed of light." interesting

Well, I actually write reviews for a music site, so I try to bring an extra touch of objectivity. But in this case, I didn't review TRT out of "professional duty," but because it's an album that positively struck me. However, the fact that I like it shouldn't influence my judgment, which ultimately aims to inform those who are unfamiliar, rather than recount my own emotions. I do accept criticisms, but I don't agree that mine is a superficial analysis; if being superficial means only giving weight to what one feels and perhaps not to the passion for a certain album, the affection one has for it, or some cryptic meaning, well then we have two different conceptions of superficiality.

You're mistaken, Fidia. Sure, I won’t deny that I might listen to songs I don’t like less, but I can assure you that before I write anything, I take some time to reflect on what I listen to. And anyway, it doesn’t seem to me that what you're saying connects with the fact that you find my reviews boring. Also, looking back at this review, it doesn’t seem to give the impression of being improvised. I mean, I provide an overall picture of the tracks and the album; I don’t dwell on the minutiae. What do you think?

It wasn't just irony. In fact, I didn't vote for your review.

In fact, the review is not very interesting and a bit boring, the exact opposite of this nice CD.

@fidia; I would like to know why my way of writing would be bland and boring, not to be polemical, but just to improve myself. I also wanted to clarify that IMHO War Pigs by FNM isn't as beautiful and interesting as, for example, the first four tracks of The Real Thing or the last one. I never said that the Sabbath song is uninteresting, just that the version proposed by FNM isn't that original. It doesn't seem that captivating to me; I don't find those guitar and keyboard intertwining and that dynamism that I found, for example, in Epic or Falling To Pieces. It's just my opinion; I didn't bring up Black Sabbath.

@saputello...I don't know what to say. In this album, I've found some small flaws. There are very beautiful and intense songs, but there are also a few shortcomings. Some tracks are a bit too long, others slightly boring. But these are minor details that don’t prevent The Real Thing from receiving an excellent rating.
