Broadly speaking, I can agree with you. But I believe that the concept of "speed" of events does not exist (eight seasons and 73 episodes are not few), the problem lies rather in the management of dynamics, in the staging, in the depth of the writing, in the richness of the direction. Many of these aspects have diminished after the fourth season and therefore many changes (one in particular...) come across as poorly prepared. But it’s not a matter of "speed," rather of quality. All in all, I am satisfied with these last two episodes, and the general disappointment for me is just a positive signal.
