Warren Spector Deus Ex

Okay, it's a Spector idea, but you could have given more credit to the developers and written Ion Storm, especially since this is precisely the title of the rebirth after the Daikatana disaster and the unfortunate commercial failure Anacronox. As for the rest, it's a milestone that console gamers have never been able to experience firsthand :P

The main culprit for the explosion of public debt in this country, in the pursuit of ever-growing consensus, would have sold his own mother. If today every Italian citizen has tens of thousands of euros in debt hanging over them, it is largely his fault.

I was from the Blizzard school, and since '98 there's only been Starcraft for me (even today, the RTS with the best balance in history). Age of Kings remains a cornerstone of the genre, having held its ground until the times of Warcraft 3; unfortunately, all the sequels have never lived up to this little gem.

let's not exaggerate, this masterpiece has never been one, at most a good game. The sequel is slightly better.

sentence but did you read what I wrote? it’s not a mistake for ordinary people, but even 15 years ago, those who wrote console with two Ls were the ignorant ones, who understood little or nothing about video games and usually spoke poorly of them, that is, the mainstream media. The word is always the same, it’s English, and the whole world writes console with one L. Long-time serious gamers cannot but shudder when they see how a mistake has become accepted. If a million people write something wrong, it doesn't stop being wrong. I don’t care that it is socially accepted as a word, to the point of even being included in dictionaries, it remains a mistake, furthermore perpetuated and normalized by those who didn’t understand shit about video games. Period. I’m not against Nes or anyone else, it’s not nitpicking, it's a statement about how things have evolved poorly.

I know, it's just that over time the mistake has become the norm. I remember a time when if you sent a letter to a video game magazine and spelled console with two L's, they wouldn't publish it. Unfortunately, the Italian mainstream media has perpetuated the mistake indefinitely, making it almost standard, but the word is still the English one, and it is spelled with one L.

Horror, "console" with one "l," always. The best game ever doesn’t exist, it doesn’t even make sense as a statement. The most famous platform of all time, perhaps the best platform for some, a pop icon of the '80s and '90s, synonymous with console gaming for over a decade. Nintendo has built some of the best platforms in history even in the years to come, and still, while capitalizing on cameos, they occasionally release a great AAA title. The plumber ages well.

In the end, opinions on single-player games are subjective. I recognized a certain honesty in Doom 3 for presenting itself as old-school infused with horror, but I understand that many might not enjoy a game that is the equivalent of a haunted house at a carnival. Additionally, the fact that 70% of the game is set in darkness surely excludes another chunk of people. However, D3 had a certain atmosphere; despite the simplicity of the gameplay, wandering through dark corridors filled with corpses and violent monsters ready to jump out created significant anxiety. In Q4, I was moving through high-tech corridors with ease, and as soon as I stepped outside, the graphics were atrocious. It might mainly be because Q4 was released in 2005, when Half-Life 2 had already unpleasantly reshaped the standards for FPS games, and the gameplay of Id titles just couldn’t keep up. Tech 3 was definitely state-of-the-art until Source came out; while the Id engine has better handling of lights and shadows, Valve's engine has... well, everything else. Vast spaces, unique physics relevant to gameplay, a variety of situations, etc. And with Q4 coming out later, it could only more clearly show its flaws in terms of technical implementation and design. Plus, Q4 was also awaited as the successor to Q3, and that literally destroyed the credibility of the title. Doom 3 may have disappointed those expecting monster orgies like in the earlier titles, but at least there were no multiplayer expectations.
