It's fiscal, as if it were the first time the book is better than the movie... for me, it's good.

You answer yourself in the review, this film is NOT directly aimed at children, and animated movies do not necessarily have to lead to a happy ending. The beginning of Up is very sad, but it took Pixar to create such a nice film with such unconventional protagonists. It’s not their peak, but it holds up quite well.

NBC a flop? With a budget of $18 million, it grossed over $50 million in the US alone, and another $30-40 million worldwide. Definitely not a blockbuster, but not a flop for its time either. Not to mention that the DVD and VHS sold millions of copies later on, and the movie is shown every Christmas in the US (now in 3D) bringing in several million each time. That Mars Attacks is very nice and original is your opinion, and incredibly you manage to not mention Edward Scissorhands but spend words on the modest Sleepy Hollow. This is not a review, it's your opinion on Tim Burton and some of his films. The final paragraph is terrible.

"Made for the kids who didn’t understand anything about Burton’s cinema" are you sure it’s not you who hasn’t understood a damn thing about the musical in question?

I agree with what Geb said. When I read in the newspapers that today 14-year-olds are smoking heroin and doing coke, I think that we who were smoking joints at the same age weren't really doing that badly. But this was before the government told everyone that drugs are drugs and there are no distinctions between soft and hard drugs. Quite a step forward has been made in Italy...

hmmm, better than Scarface I wouldn't know, the characters are definitely better defined here, thanks to a superior cast (Sean Penn is fantastic), but I have some reservations about the ending, that of Tony Montana for me is a notch above.
