Smashing Pumpkins Adore

I always stay on the defensive when I see an album like this being reviewed, partly out of fear of so-called revisionists, and partly because so many years have passed that digging too deep into the past only dims the memories of the beautiful emotions from back then... at least, that's how it is for me.
But sometimes remembering is good, especially if the framework proposed is impeccable as in this case. Perhaps the best review I've read on Debaser.
I love the Pumpkins; it was a love at first sight, and the years haven't dimmed that, although I must reluctantly admit that those times are over, forever. Adore is the turning point album, the one of renunciation, of sadness; Adore is the most acidic and exhausting emotional cocktail from the Pumpkins, slow and heartbreaking yet sweet in its ability to cradle the listener in an atmosphere, as you define it, twilight. Yet, I have never been able to like it as much as the other albums from the band; the problem is me, not the album. Let me say that for me, Siamese Dream remains an unmatched masterpiece; even Machina engaged me more and for longer than Adore did. The turning point is obviously not the poetry (very pronounced in Adore and Machina, less so in the other albums) but rather the electric guitar riffs, which I honestly can’t do without. Beautiful, very profound and all that, but if you are like me, you'll inevitably find it too slow, and out of those sixteen tracks, you'll end up with barely ten in your hands...

I'm sorry, but the review noooon is up to par... I consider the album just a notch below Mutter, but in the absence of a 4.5, I'll go for a 5.

Did black people invent rock n roll? Really? No offense, but could we be a bit more precise about that?
P.S. The fried chicken from Kentucky is delicious!

I only know her vaguely from Criminal, but this review made me want to learn more; I’ll try to get my hands on the CD...

I preferred Star Whores, but Space Balls wasn't bad either...

lol, 5/5 for this trash...
and anyway I went to Jammin, I talked to some Vasco fans and it's a common opinion that this year in Imola he really sucked, despite the mega setup created just for him (and promptly taken down the next day)
Smashing Pumpkins Machina/The Machines Of God

Given that nothing exists better than Siamese Dream for me, I still liked Machina, much more than Adore... the depth of this album is something indescribable, you have to hear it to believe it... great review.
Korn Take A Look In The Mirror

Leaving aside the judgment on the review, I didn't mind this album... of course, KoRn haven't changed at all, and if you’re looking for freshness and innovation in this album, there isn’t a hint of it. This CD is dedicated to those who have always loved KoRn and know what they’re getting into. Take a look in the mirror and u'll see KoRn...
